Clerk Assistant of the House of Commons

Sarah Davies became Clerk Assistant and Managing Director of the Chamber and Committees Team in April 2019, and following an internal restructure is now MD of the Chamber and Participation Team. Sarah has worked in the House Service since 1993 and is a serving Table Clerk. She has worked in all three procedural offices - as Clerk of Private Members' Bills, Clerk of Bill Programming, as a papers clerk in the Journal Office and as Deputy Head of the Table Office between 2014 and 2016. Sarah’s roles in the Committee Office included Clerk of the Work and Pensions Committee between 2005 and 2007 and Clerk of the European Scrutiny Committee between 2012 and 2015.  More broadly, Sarah has an MBA from the Open University and has been lead resources governor for a north London primary school. She was Senior Responsible Owner for the House services provided for the 2017 general election. She helped set up, and was first Secretary to, the House's Audit Committee. She has longstanding interests in social mobility, maths literacy, cultural change and inclusion and diversity.
