Secretary General of the Senate of Poland

Ewa Polkowska is a lawyer and public officer. She graduated in Law from the University of Warsaw, and then underwent judge training. She started working at the Senate Chancellery in 1991, at the Legislative Office, and she made her way from being a legislator to the director of the office. From 2006 to 2016, she served as the Head of the Senate Chancellery, and at the same time was a member of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (ASGP).

From 2016 to 2019, she was the Vice-President of the Supreme Audit Office, and since 2020 has worked at the Judicature Office of the Supreme Administrative Court. In March 2024, she reassumed her position as the Head of the Senate Chancellery. She was a lecturer at the National School of Public Administration and the University of Warsaw, among other institutions.

She is a member of the Polish Association of Legislation which, founded in 1996, brings together Polish legislative lawyers. She was the President of its Management Board (2010–2022).

In 2015, she was awarded the Badge of Honour for her Services for Legislation.
