Mr Dan MARZOUK

Adv. Dan Marzouk has been serving as the Secretary General of the Knesset since April 2022. His duties include overseeing the professional aspects related to parliamentary procedures in the Knesset Plenum and committees, and ensuring the implementation of the parliamentary “rules of the game” as stipulated by law and the Knesset Rules of Procedure. As Secretary General of the Knesset, Adv. Marzouk advises the Speaker of the Knesset and the Deputy Speakers on professional issues related to the parliamentary arena, coordinates the work of the Knesset Presidium, oversees the professional relationship with the Cabinet Secretariat and the various government ministries, and supervises the directors of Knesset committees and their staffs.From 2010 to 2020, Adv. Marzouk served as a senior advisor to the Knesset’s Chief Legal Counsel and dealt with complex and sensitive issues in constitutional and administrative law. Prior to that, he served for three years as the advisor to the Secretary General of the Knesset.Adv. Marzouk has played an active role over the years in formulating parliamentary reforms and amendments to the Knesset Rules of Procedure. In his capacity as Secretary General, he works to improve parliamentary activity and adapt it to contemporary times. Adv. Marzouk holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in public law.
