Mr Awwad AL GHUWAIRI

Mr Awwad AlGhuwairi was appointed to the position of Secretary General of the House of Representatives in 5 January 2023. Having previously served as General Director of the Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives (2019-2023), Mr AlGhuwairi has held a number of other positions within institution, as he commenced his career at the House in 1998 His past positions include:Assistant Secretary General for Legislative Affairs and Parliamentary Oversight (2017-2019),Director of Legislation and Parliamentary Oversight (2012-2017) andHead of the Committees Department.He was born in 1974, holds a Master’s degree in law.
